-
No, regardless of booking duration, we only book one event per car per day
-
Service time starts when we first pick you up and ends when we drop you off at your final destination.
-
For early pickups, please let us know ASAP and we will do our best to accommodate.

Please let your chauffeur know ASAP if your event will run long and we will do our best to acommodate. We do have a hard cutoff at 10 hours of service per chauffeur to ensure your chauffeur does not exceed Virginia’s limit on hours driven per day. If you think you will exceed 10 hours of service, please advise your chauffeur ASAP, and note that we may have to assign you a different, probably modern, limousine and/or a different driver to finish your service.

No, a gratuity is not necessary. We strive to provide excellent service every time. Should your chauffeur exceed your expectations, any gratuity you offer would be a welcome token of your appreciation.

We serve events within 100 miles of our depot at VA Highway 29 and Rio Road in Charlottesville. At time of booking, we may advise that we need to tow your classic car to your pickup location and back from your destination to our depot for a flat fee of $1,000. Note, in particular, that some of our vehicles cannot reach modern highway speeds as noted on their profiles, so if your service involves an older car and necessitates driving on roads with speed limits of 55mph or higher (e.g. Interstate 64, highway 29 south of Charlottesville, etc.) we will likely require a tow at an additional charge.
If your quote does not include towing, you will not pay for towing! In particular, should the limo break down the day of your event, you will not be charged a towing fee unless a towing fee was included in your quote.

Yes, you can eat or drink in the limo provided the food and beverages will not stain or damage the interior of the limo if dropped or spilled. Let us know what food or beverages you want to have in the limo and we will advise if we can allow them.

Virginia law does not allow open alcoholic beverages in moving vehicles unless there is a divider between the driver and passengers who are drinking alcohol. Our cars have temporary divider we can place in the car at any point during the event so you can drink alcohol in the back seat. You must provide your own alcohol and there is no uncorking fee. We are happy to provide complimentary champagne flutes.

Our Premier Experience includes the opportunity for your decorator to decorate your limo. All decorations must be removeable by your chauffeur and/or decorator at the end of the service without damaging, leaving marks upon, or otherwise altering the appearance of the limo.

All of our chauffeurs undergo a moving vehicle record check and criminal background check prior to providing service. All of our chauffeurs must also take and pass PAX Training before driving passengers, and receive weekly on-going training through PAX’s “keys to success”. Virginia law only requires a standard driver’s license to drive our limousines but some of our drivers also have commercial driver’s licenses.

Our chauffeurs’ primary responsibility is to get you to your destination(s) safely, comfortably, and punctually. However, a professional chauffeur’s services extend beyond driving! You can expect your chauffeur to converse with you if you desire (or stay quiet!). Your chauffeur can also act as a concierge, providing information about restaurants, bars, activities, points of interest, and other knowledge about the Charlottesville area. Your chauffeur and limo are also ready to assist with a variety of last minute crises, from safety pinning through wardrobe malfunctions to providing a charger for your phone. If there is anything we can do to provide you with an exceptional experience, please ask, and we will do our best!

Unless otherwise instructed, our chauffeurs wear black suits with white dress shirts, black ties, black socks, black shoes, and black belts with silver or gold buckles and minimal accessories and jewelry matching their belt buckles. However, if you have a specific look you want your chauffeur to wear, please let us know with as much lead time as possible and we will do our best to accommodate.

Service animals are allowed in compliance with the Americans with Disability Act. We may be able to accommodate your pet depending on size, species, distance, etc. Please let us know if you want your furry friend to ride along!

Please feel free to reach out to our owner, Phil, at phil@rockfishrides.com, to arrange a time to talk about cars. Phil loves to talk about cars!

Owner and founder Phil attended J.T. Henley Middle School and Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Virginia, which are located along a short stretch of Virginia Route 250 named the “Rockfish Gap Turnpike”. Accordingly, Phil chose the name as a cheeky reference to where he grew up. Phil has never seen a “rockfish”, on the turnpike or elsewhere.
